John 3:3 ‘No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again’

The painting depicts rebirth by letting go of our sins and the temptations imposed by the physical world which are symbolized by the snakes surrounding men. The eyes are the window to the soul, hence through the eyes the soul is leaving behind the body, being welcomed back home by God’s hand. He looks past our sins and solely focuses on the heart as it contains our innermost feelings.
