Learning to fly
Before showing the artwork I want to share with you a story...
A man spent hours watching a butterfly struggling to emerge
from its cocoon. After a long struggle, the butterfly appeared to be exhausted
and remained still. The man decided to help the butterfly and cut open the
cocoon. However, this caused for the butterfly’s body and wings to be wrinkled.
The man continued to watch, hoping the butterfly would open its wings and fly away but nothing happened; and that which was meant to fly was condemned to crawl the rest of its life. The man failed to understand that the fight and efforts of the butterfly were needed so it could learn to strengthen its wings.

What the story teaches us is that obstacles are placed in
our lives so that we can become the best version of ourselves. Good change
comes from tough situations and what we go through in life is not there to harm
us but rather to help us prosper. So, like this butterfly, I struggled through
the chemotherapy, however this struggle, this obstacle made me stronger.
